Hello everyone,
We (Presagis) have just wrapped up OpenFlight API v4.1 (due to be released Mar 1, 2010) and are planning v4.2. We are considering upgrading our development environment of Creator and the OpenFlight API from Visual Studio 2005 (VC8) to Visual Studio 2008 (VC9) and wanted to get a feel for how this change might impact the OpenFlight API User Community.
We would continue to support "older" version of Visual Studio by releasing the OpenFlight API library files in the following binary formats:
VC6 win32
VC8 (VS2005) win32 and x64
VC9 (VS2008) win32 and x64
Since Creator 4.2 would be developed with VC9, we will recommend that Creator plug-in developers upgrade to VC9 as well so their plug-ins are compatible. Although our initial testing reveals that plug-ins built with VC8 do function correctly in VC9-built Creator, VC9 will be the recommended upgrade path.
We welcome your feedback.
Thanks.
