Need

Reduction of the number of files under a CDB Repository. At the same time the requirement are that

• Should not impact negatively performance of the run-time

• Should enable faster transfer, or data managements

• Should enable finer granularity to the components

• Should enable fast add/remove

Possible solutions

Grouping of files through zip, grouping of files using functionality of existing format (JP2K, GeoTiff, Shapefile...)

This subject should have some addendum posted in the future to help the discussion, but please feel free to comment starting now and this has a good potential of impacting the definition of the addendum.
